энтропийное (статистическое) кодирование, энтропийное сжатие
кодирование цифрового сигнала с целью уменьшения (исключения) избыточности - сжатие без потерь, с последовательностями переменной длины. Применяется в MPEG-2, DTS и Dolby Digital после этапа дискретизации, а также в MLP.
